Our study aims to bring together all those interested in the genealogy and family history of the surname SHERWOOD and its variants. A newsletter entitled 'The Sherwood Forest'  is usually issued twice a year. Details of all enquiries received are put in the newsletter. Even if you decide not to join, we would welcome details of your Sherwood ancestry to keep on file e.g. a family chart or GEDCOM file, as we may be able to put you in contact with someone related to you. With the growth of material available on-line the need to index items such as the census returns, parish records, wills and similar material has become less necessary. We do keep much of the earlier data we collected along with some more unusual English and foreign indices in the members area, as a service to members of the group.
